Gorove/Slade Associates, Inc. conducts various types of parking studies ranging from preliminary planning to final design for surface lots, garage facilities and on-street parking. Work has been performed for Private Developments, Public Facilities, Institutions, Federal Facilities, and Municipalities. Preliminary planning tasks include parking demand analysis comprised of inventories and shared parking studies to evaluate current usage and forecast future needs. Shared parking studies evaluate the synergy between complementary land uses in order to provide for the appropriate level of parking to meet a site's daily parking needs. Parking planning evaluates demand as it relates to the unique needs of the facility, the underlying zoning dictated by the municipalities, and the market demands for parking. The firm's design services focus on the relationship between the external and internal roadway network, the flow of traffic through the parking facility, the layout of the parking, and the signing and wayfinding systems supporting the facility. Several projects have also concentrated on the unique operating conditions of the parking facilities to include the planning and design of security checkpoints and the parking revenue control equipment.
